Not exactly. I just don’t think it makes sense to lump him in with a group of clear thugs and crooks by mere association. Not a huge fan of guilt by association. Let him be judged for who he is, not some preconception based on an inadequate definer like his hometown. It’s shorthand, dispositive of nothing.

Some of our worst and best presidents have come from (fill in the blank). Ultimately meaningless.

Rahm Emmanuel, the Daleys and the current crop of Chicago politicians aren’t exactly what I would call clear thugs, & crooks. But they are still thugs and crooks.

Around here we don’t talk about Daley Sr. and Capone. They are old news.
