Every geek needs a computer naming scheme. My current one is Tolkien; my router is Middle-Earth, and my computers are all appropriately named. The lord of the manor is Aragorn, my wife’s laptop is Arwen, etc.

I use the names of pets, both past and present.

My servers are alfie and lulu, for instance. (The names of my cats.) My laptop is max. (my late ferret)

I’ve noticed this too. Every geek I know has some kind of pattern they adhere to.
