Several years ago at my job, we had a huge blowup over one space or two in our reports, to the point that one of my coworkers wrote a report that explained how proportional spacing worked and that we should only have to use one space after a period. It didnāt matter, the boss wanted two spaces. As for the Oxford comma, I went to journalism school and we were told not to use it.
Back in the 1980s my wife was director of the Ford Employe Fitness Center in Dearborn, thatās right, āemployeā without the double e ending. Ford HQ tried for years and years to get everyone to drop the extra e because someone had projected that could save them money.
Didnāt take. š¤
