I keep thinking of the economy and the tax bills in terms of stoichiometry. You have an equation, right? And on one side you have all the starting materials. On the other side you have the products. Like this:

2(H2) + 02 = 2(H2O)

That’s it. You need two Hydrogen molecules for every Oxygen molecule to get Water. If you have 5 times as many Hydrogen molecules as Oxygens, you’ll only get as many Water molecules as you had Oxygen molecules. No matter how much Hydrogen you add, you won’t get more Water without more Oxygen.

Right now, corporations and the wealthy have more money than they’ve ever had. Working and middle class families, however, haven’t had a real raise in decades. All the while growth has been slowing. Clearly, corporate wealth and wealthy person wealth have not been limiting. Adding more to those piles won’t increase growth much.

The GOP is throwing more money onto those piles. The stoichiometry is wrong.
