re: #374 Belafon

Wayne’s worst nightmare has come true: Fewer people are afraid of the NRA, thanks to a bunch of kids refusing to cower after a massacre. Politicians, mostly on the left, are finally recognizing that the NRA is not as powerful as they seem.

The first clue was last November, when Ralph Northam ran as a Dem with a poor NRA “rating” and won big, compounded by the exit poll numbers that showed gun policy a major issue for the people who elected him.

That’s the big issue for the NRA right now, they’re not used to a situation where the fear of a bad “rating” from them fails to silence debate. Where they just have to breath “Assault Weapons Ban” and the DNC clams up out of fear that they’ll take a drubbing again at the polls. The debate is shifting sharply against them and they have no response other than to double down on the fearmongering.
