We had a good conversation on this yesterday though about how anti-government people want all the trappings of a modern society but they don’t want to pay for it.

Magical thinking. It’s no coincidence that they’re the same folks who think that the world was created out of whole cloth in its present form 6000 years ago.

They live in a fantasy world. America industrialized itself without government intervention. The interstate highway system was built without taxpayer money. Private citizens can threaten to shoot law enforcement if they’re white and defending a deadbeat who hasn’t paid what he owes for a few decades. Slavery would have ended on its own without a war. Jim Crow laws would have ended because people would have voted to end them. Etc.
