It is marginally debatable, the one security man with them made it out the window but was wounded. When he tried to locate Stevens and Smith who should have been following he couldn’t and didn’t re-enter due to the heavy smoke.

The other three security men onsite were hold up in another building and couldn’t help either. With an estimated 100+ hostiles in the compound at that time a three man team would have had a difficult if not impossible job to fight their way through.

Even if they did manage to reach the building they would have had to go in while under fire and without respirators. Could they have located Stevens and Smith in the smoke, and before they had succumbed to smoke inhalation?
