Lucas practically invented the bludgeon-‘em-over-the-head-with-it genre of film.

I always thought that it was very clever idea that he didn’t make all the the characters speak english like Chewbacca. And didn’t give the subtitles. And started the series with episode 3. I thought he was a man that knew he weaknesses and knew how to cover for them. It was something that helped make Star Wars completely different from Star Trek, because Star some times spent large periods of time just on dialog while Star Wars avoided it almost at all cost at times.

But then he made 1986 and the pre-quals to Star wars, total let down.
