I suspect Robertson’s comments were his actual beliefs. The opinions expressed are more or less doctrine among evangelical Christians.

But then again, I also suspect evangelicals are the largest part of the DD fanbase.

However, I don’t think it was done as a staged PR stunt, I think Robertson just spoke his mind and this is the result.
