I’ve likened Bernie, or at least the view his fans have of him, to Ron Paul in the past. Not out of malice, because I respect him and his ideas. But out of the realization that most of his support comes from those who think ideas are all that matter, that you’re not hampered if you’ve no way of making those ideas a reality. Many of them even mirror the mindset of Paulians that being elected means his ideas are so popular that the voting public will “punish” any who vote against them.

I happened to catch Bernie talking about how he could possibly get a dug-in Republican do-nothing congress to go with any of his legislative ideas. His answer was that if they bulk he will unleash all of those gazillions of his supporters to go to Washington and elsewhere throughout the country and hold huge protests to send the message they are going to force the passage or throw the bums out.

I don’t see that working. At all. Anyone see any traction in that?
