Frodo is sent to destroy a Ring of Power in the Fires of Mt Doom before the Evil Lord Sauron can recover it.

Anyone/anything else would be either repelled by the evil in the ring (why giant magic eagles cannot carry it) or so overwhelmed by its power that they would give in and hand it back to its master (which is why a plucky little Hobbit was chosen as being strong enough to withstand it)

May I suggest the mother of any randomly selected teenagers to do the job, then? As in “Oh for heaven’s sake, just give me the ring and I will take care of it.” Done and dusted.
