I believe Trump was elected because of a failure of the imagination. Nobody could imagine someone so transparently, blatantly, continually dishonest becoming popular. Nobody could imagine him surviving insulting a former POW. Nobody could imagine a serial adulterer who followed no real Conservative ideology becoming popular with the Religious Right. Nobody could imagine he’d survive attacking a Gold Star family. Nobody could imagine he’d survive the release of the ‘pussy grabbing’ video and the accusations that followed it.

Nobody could imagine he’d be elected President, outside of a bad joke or a Simpsons episode.

But he did.

Now, Chris Hayes can’t imagine that what’s in the infamous Oppo dossier could be true.

What I learned in the election is that Everything I Know Is Wrong. I no longer allow myself to think, “Nah, that couldn’t be!”, when it comes to Trump.

Overall, I like Chris…but he sure can go off and say some strange head-shaking stuff.
