You can “batch adjust” files in iTunes. Once you’ve imported the files, you select all the ones that you want in an album (click on the first one, and then shift+click on the last, hopefully they appear grouped in the music listing).

Then right-click on them and select “get info”.

Then enter your desired album designation, and click OK - it should update all the files at once. You can set other data elements as well (artist, album artist etc.).

Hopefully that does what you want? There are also command-line tools for setting the album details in mp3 files, but for me the method I just described is usually good enough.

I see what you are saying, I guess that would work.

I just noticed that I can drop a folder of files into a “playlist” which I can name the playlist myself, and it shows up on the IPod as a play list, with the tracks under it, I guess that would be a way to do it.
