re: #376 Dark_Falcon

More reasons then: Unlike the lead or bismuth alloys used to produce bullets, traq drugs are controlled substances. The ATF is also barred by act of Congress from treating the ‘smokeless power’ of modern firearms as an ‘explosive’ in terms of licencing, while access to controlled traq drugs remains subject to a thicket of controls.

Also, traq drugs don’t work instantly, and even a 5 second delay can give an attacker time to cut your throat. A .45 ACP round, by contrast, will knock him off his feet right away.

Now you’re just throwing everything but the kitchen sink into the argument.

Until the wingnuts get over their erotic fixation on firearms (and the knee-jerk defense of them in all cases), we won’t make any progress on this issue. And the absolutist view that “they’re coming to take all my guns” is an absurd paranoid delusion that your party fosters. I don’t know how many more Newtowns and Auroras and Virginia Techs it will take, but more mass shootings will probably lead us to a tipping point eventually. Assault rifle legislation wasn’t even on the radar two months ago; Newtown changed that. Now imagine the impact of more Newtowns going forward. Even the NRA is on the defensive. A civilized nation will at some point demand some sort of action in the face of unparalleled (in the developed world) slaughter of civilians.
