Any competent job of following the money is going to prove that.

Forensic accounting a very difficult area, and it’s part of the reason there’s so few criminal prosecutions that end in convictions along those lines (like the fallout from the market crash in 2007-2009. Being able to prove wrongdoing is tedious work, made harder knowing that Trump’s got shell corps and pass throughs up the wazoo, (a legal term of art).
