I really don’t understand the point of starting a recession right before an election, but what do I know, I went to kollege.

The cynic in me fears that if the economy gets bad enough he can declare national emergency……

I saw a tweet today, which I won’t bother to look up, that said his economic advisers started warning him this month that there are signs of a possible downturn on the horizon. He has NO OTHER CASE to make for reelection other than the economy, to anyone beyond his white nationalist base, so if the economy goes South he knows he’s royally fucked - and not like when he pretended Princess Di was calling him wanting to go out.

The tweet also mentioned that these same signs were clear to REAL economists several months prior.
