Exactly. I’ve seen some say “Well just censure him and move on.” That would require at the very least acknowledgment from him and the WH that the call was improper and not “perfect” and I don’t think Trump has admitted to being wrong about anything since running for President. In fact, he’s doubled down on his ignorance.

It would have been a lot better for the goopers in a number of places if they could have at least said “what Trump did was wrong, I wouldn’t have done it, but it’s not worthy of removal.” McConnell could have given out golden tickets left and right to vulnerable senators in electoral trouble. But the narcissistic insecure nutcase in the White House would never have tolerated even fake tactical opposition. He’d have sent the flying monkeys down on anybody who failed to kiss his ass and destroyed them. So here we are, and may the rotten shits in the Republican Senate choke on it.
