If a President is reelected, I consider that to essentially be a mandate. But the result of the bloodletting, fratricide, and cannibalism in the GOP primaries will be a much easier win for Obama than it would otherwise be.

If he is re-elected it will be interesting to see if there’s an anti-Democratic backlash in the mid-terms, like in 2010, or if the GOP manages to shoot themselves in the foot, a la the Clinton impeachment, and give the Dems a mid-term win.
