Why would anyone in Iran want to attack Israel NOW? Diplomacy-wise, their enemies are busily kicking own-goals (and high-fiving themselves over their excellent style): they are likely to get far better results by making themselves out to be the reasonable ones in the deal, and let Trump keep on making the US into the “rogue nation”.

And I do wonder if anyone in the Admin has really thought out the ramifications of pulling out of the JCPOA, outside of the cheap publicity and tough-talk rah-rah from the Deplorables, of course? The international sanctions regime only worked because a bunch of other world players (like China) went along with it. As long as Iran actually does comply (or, seem to comply) with the inspections, etc. and don’t actually set off any nukes, Trump’s new set of sanctions are, in effect, only going to affect the US. Except, of course, if the G is going to try to make complying with those sanctions a condition of trade with anybody else - in which case, yet again, as with his tariff scheme, Trump and his crew are going to seriously fuck up this country’s economy: all in the name of “better deals”, naturally…..
