You do not have to see gay couples as married in the eyes of the Lord, but you have to recognize their rights before the law.

This is a nuance that gets totally lost in the shouting match.

It gets lost because a lot of people seem to think that the Bible trumps the Constitution.

Moreover, there are plenty of churches which do not see a problem with marriage equality anyway (my sister’s for one).
