Years ago when my family moved from a rental house to owned (mortgage) house we had a brown/coppertone fridge. My mom covered it up with woodgrain contact paper. It looked much better.

We had a blue fridge in our first house in California. I strongly suspect it was one of my dad’s deals because it really didn’t go with anything. (Another deal from hell—the Econoline van dad bought in 1966 which could only get above 35 mph when going downhill.) When we moved to Texas, we went into a rental house, so the fridge didn’t go with us. Then when my parents brought a proper house (1974) it had multishade green shag carpet, wood paneling in the family room and an avocado colored kitchen. Oh, and right before my parents signed the papers, there was an enormous hailstorm and every window (and there were a lot of windows) had to be replaced. We were still picking tiny slivers of glass out of the shag carpet years later.
