Yeah…reading Kant — I’m REALLY glad he’s been translated into English. But it’s so complicated in English, it actually ends up making more sense in German. Hard to explain, since my own attempts were massive fails.

Plus my German now SUCKS so unless one keeps it up, it’s for naught, unless one is really good at languages.


2. No, when Churchill said that it is no bad thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations, he was talking about me. (Figuratively: I don’t actually read books of quotations.)

Though I have the greatest respect and admiration for Housman.

3. If I suddenly, magically became financially independent, Spinoza would be the first priority for the time I allocated to philosophy.

I will have to look into Housman. Spinoza is the man. Love his story, too.
