re: #376 lawhawk

So I caught a bit of Louise Mensch’s schtick on twitter earlier today. She was busy tweeting about the line of succession, and mysteriously jumped from Orrin Hatch to Mattis.

After Trump, you’ve got Pence and then Ryan. From there:

3 President pro tempore of the Senate Orrin Hatch (R)
4 Secretary of State Rex Tillerson (R)
5 Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin (R)
6 Secretary of Defense James Mattis (I)
7 Attorney General Jeff Sessions (R)
8 Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke (R)
9 Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue (R)
10 Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross (R)
11 Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta (R)
12 Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price (R)
13 Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson (R)

This is well understood and yet she gets basic info wrong. Yet, we’re going to believe that she’s got the dirt on the indictments, or the process of how the federal courts and the federal investigations are proceeding and what they’re acting upon, whereas Preet Bharara doesn’t?

Yeech. I need a shower.

Maybe the assumption is that Tillerson and Mnuchin would some how be wrapped up in the imaginary GOP RICO indictment? But your list is correct, the level of ignorance is rather amazing.

If we ever end up in a situation where we are possibly looking the presidency being filled by the Speaker of the House, let alone the President Pro Tem of the Senate, we are going to be staring at a constitutional crisis that would make a collaboration between Aaron Sorkin and Vince Flynn seem tame in comparison.
