I genuinely believe that if Biden won the presidency, it would be a replay of the Obama years, with a lot of good-faith and genuine efforts at bipartisanship reduced to bloody chunks by a Republican Party whose base cannot abide any thought of the other side “winning.”

My approach would be this:

call in the “moderate” Republican Senators and maybe members of the House (if any are left in the House) and tell them, “look, we’re working on this, it’s something we know you support and would be good for your constituents. We want you to co-sponsor the bills, we want you to vote for it. We will let you give input and down the line, we can find something else that you support that we can work together on. But understand this: this is your one chance, you fuck us over like you did on the ACA and you’re cut out, you’re done, persona non grata. And I will take every opportunity to remind voters in your State/district that you tried to fuck them over, I will make it my personal mission to see that you lose your next election.”
