I have noticed that many people with clear and obvious symptoms are testing negative, both public figures and from personal experience. It makes me wonder as to the reliability of the various tests that have surfaced around the world. I have not seen any data on false negative or false positive rates, and I suspect that no real research has been done on them given how quickly things have moved. I am not really looking at number of positive cases as a reliable indicator anyway at this point, and more at death and hospitalisation rates.

I haven’t heard of people with symptoms testing negative. I’ve seen people who were in situations where they thought they might have caught it test negative.
