re: #361 DesertDenizen
My father carried several bricks from the old Cleveland Municipal stadium through several airports to get them home when that stadium was torn down. They sold pretty much everything. He couldn’t justify buying one of the turnstiles.
My dad took me to a Phillies game on the last day they played in the old Connie Mack Stadium (old-school, I know - but my dad was even more old-school and always called it Shibe Park). On the way out, I saw fans ripping the bench seats out in the upper levels.
This was long before sports memorabilia was a thing, and I kinda wonder if the bench-rippers were even able to get the benches out of the park.
