That’s all good in theory. What about in practice and the reality of possible outcomes?

Are we all good with the Democrats doing the right thing and going with impeaching Trump, but he stays in the job due to Republican Senate and then due to all kinds of stupid shit (GOP, media, Berners, Russians…)the Democrats lose seats in the house and do not take the senate?

In other words, we did the moral good and still lose.

Which is a preferable choice: Going through with impeachment and then failing to convict due to the GOP putting party above country?

Or begging off impeachment on the grounds that “we need to investigate further,” only to set a precedent that a president who breaks the law can do so with impunity so long as the other party fears the political fallout of failing to remove him from office?
