McCarthy, who was House majority leader at the time, encouraged his fellow Republicans to use this rule change to ram through subpoenas to the Obama White House without interference from Democrats.

That’s the sort of shit you do when you believe in your permanent majority bullshit (which I remember Hugh Hewitt first spouting back when I was in law school a decade and a half ago now). This is just one of those reminders that you don’t weaken the minority because one day, usually sooner than you think, you’re going to be in the minority.
