personally, I believe dana’s statement is completely incorrect about burglars.
Many burglars do indeed knock. Either no one is home and it’s safe to enter the house, or it’s an elderly person who opens the door and the burglars pretend to be people working in the the neighborhood and they need to distract the owner.
