Fascinating story about the Deir-al Zour firefight, though after reading the New York Times’ account of the battle (linked to by Politico), I’m not sure how much more “detail” Trump could offer, as the NYT piece lays out the basics of the fight pretty thoroughly. Though it was interesting to see the incident in fleshed-out detail: the initial reports on Deir al-Zour had made it sound like it was a simple move by a few companies of mercenaries who blundered into an ambush due to bad intelligence (and no mention of armored support). Not so simple, after all.
