re: #385 RunningBare

Maybe the meme is bullshit, just like every other stereotype (you’ll have to excuse me, I get this way when I’ve been drinking) is normally mostly BS, but sometimes based on a small kernal of truth…

To which my point is, I dont’ know how it is where YOU live, but here I can pick up any one of the weekly alternative papers (or even the major mainstream media daily papers) and find a dozen or so “Earn money doing what you love now! $$$ Activists needed!” ads in the Help Wanted section - and every. single. one. is for some “progressive” cause.

Someone is hiring activists, and paying them to do it.

(This isn’t an attack, just FYI. Just something I’ve noticed.)

Truthfully? I’d suggest calling those ads— I think they’re just like the net ads that say “Work from home! Make 5K a week as a housewife working part-time!”

They’re geared to an internet and young pop, many of whom did work for Obama, and to all of whom “activist” sounds cool. they’re probably ads for telemarketing shit or scams. Or for ‘volunteering’ like for greenpeace petitions— that’s been around forever.
(I promise you, if there were big jobs in progressive activism I’d know! ha)
