That frames the point that Sergey was beating me up on much better than I did in my attempts. And I found it rather presumptuous of him that the thought he could shed his political skin and re-brand himself as a politically neutral spokesperson for a cause, even if that cause was a useful and noble one.

And it played right into the hands of people like Rush Limbaugh, insisting that “environmental whackos” just want us all to live in lean-tos and wipe our butts with leaves.

But it was okay for George H.W. Bush to do fundraising for the Katrina and tsunami victims? Or George W. Bush to do fundraising for veterans causes?

Conservatives also hate Jimmy Carter for building houses for poor people. Is that also justified?
