Bitcoin is unaffected by these hacks. It’s the Bitcoin-wannabes with poor cryptography and coding that are falling victim to the hacks. Verge itself has been hacked no less than three times, and its dev(s) seem unwilling to ask any experts for advice. Monacoin is a sketchy project that supposedly will issue crypto-based debit cards, except that Visa wants no part of it. And Bitcoin Gold is an attempt to cash in on the Bitcoin “brand.”

There are more than 1,400 crypto-currency projects. Using three fails to label all of them as stupid is irresponsible. Sorry, Rebecca. pets.com failed. amazon.com did not.
