References are supposed to be just that; personal acknowledgements. If they’re not there pointless and meaningless.

Um, they are really kinda pointless and meaningless after a certain point (they mean a lot if you are trying to get into a certain industry out of college…not so much if you are an executive VP changing to another company).

That is why I said they are really just a social nicety for someone like Kavanaugh. It’s window dressing.
