Property taxes pay for your own kids schools
Income taxes pay for safe food drugs disease prevention
State taxes pay for public transit roads police and fire and ambulances
Clean drinkable water. Hell water delivery at all or dig your own well

I was thinking about some abstract concepts last night about how everything relates to everything in the end. Taxes ain’t any different. I very much subscribe to what Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes said on taxes, “I like taxes, with them I buy civilization.” Like yeah I don’t like paying taxes in the sense that I like a fine meal or good book but in the end, I know paying taxes helps society function. The right has made the debate not about how much taxes we should be paying but whether we should be paying them at all and given their views on the military and national deefnse, that’s extremely stupid. You can’t want the most massive military in the world as I’m sure Kaitlin wants and insist taxation is theft.
