I’d be more convinced by the way if there weren’t a lot of trigger happy idiots out there but all the time I’m reading about someone shooting someone over the smallest provacation. You had that man who was killed for throwing popcorn FFS. The kid because his music “scared” the guy. The old man who shot the woman who was in a car accident because he thought she was an intruder. I’m not seeing these famed responsible gun owners. I do see a lot of idiots though.

In fairness, somebody not getting shot isn’t news, which might be why you don’t hear about responsible gun owners. Apparently, 31% of households in the US have guns (that’s an all time low, by the way). You hear about the idiots because, in the larger picture, they’re outliers.

That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t find ways to further reduce gun deaths. Or insure that the people getting and keeping guns are mentally stable.
