re: #369 John Hughes

Which, Pluto or Australia?

The map shows that the “height” of Australia (“h”) is about the same as the diameter of Pluto, so the area of Pluto is 4π(h/2)^2 where the area of Australia is roughly h*(1.5*h)

Pluto = 3h^2
Australia = 1.5h^2

Pluto is twice the size of Australia.

(Real figures, Australia is 7.692 million km^2, Pluto 17.646 million km^2. Pluto is a big bigger than Russia).

You are pre-supposing a non-flat Pluto. Australia is obviously flat.
