re: #381 Pianobuff

Clever, clever. Reminds me of old joke about the man who is sick of his wife always talking about herself. So she says, “Let’s talk about YOU. What do YOU think of my hair.”

I’ll give it a rest for now, just try to be gentle on us non-Paulians who find monetary policy and critical thinking about the Fed to be important topics. One last note. As a technical correction, Congress does not set monetary policy. They spend the money, but they do not directly control the basic supply, availability, etc.

Wasn’t trying to be clever- it’s a legitimate question, imo. Not trying to say the Fed is perfect and shouldn’t face scrutiny, but it is my opinion that opportunists like ron paul are using the Fed to deflect attention away from Congressional fiscal scrutiny. Nor do I disagree with you that we can’t do both- but where’s an elected Federal official discussing Congress’ role? Congress doesn’t want us to think about their role in this- they know where their bread is buttered.
