The vast majority of people are perfectly well-qualified, and it’s really weird to me that people castigate people for problems and mistakes on their taxes. Taxes aren’t particularly easy, and unless it’s an egregious attempt at getting away with something — which would be pretty damn stupid, since this is exactly the kind of thing that political opponents go after— I give people the benefit of the doubt.

And judging any appointee based on the quality of other appointees makes very, very little sense. The number of holds has been ridiculous.
