Glad you liked it! Stan Rogers did a bunch of really great songs. I always liked “Witch of Westmoreland” and “White Collar Holler”. Another of the very sad boat wreck songs is Roger’s Jeannie C. I always viewed it as about a man losing his core identity.

There are some Browne Sisters (with George Cavanaugh) songs on youtube, but the sound is pretty bad. They are a Scots music group out of California and mostly perform at various Scottish Games across the US.)

You bring up an interesting point on the Koreans. Truth be told, I wonder if this is a major weakness on the part of Japan. Even if part of it is due to living in the shadow of the huge Han civilization.

It seems to me that a lot of countries define themselves as being born in a certain place, speaking a certain language and holding a certain set of beliefs. I do not think that this definition is holding up well in the current interconnectedness of the world. Certainly a lot of countries in Europe are currently dealing with this issue. What does it mean to be French? Or German? Or Hungarian? Or English?

I do not think that it is possible to roll the world back to 1800, despite the efforts of the current US administration and other reactionary groups across the world.
