There was a version of Mitt that I could have supported, but he was such a fucking coward instead. Running away from his signature accomplishment as governor, suddenly becoming pro-choice, and “severely conservative.” If he had any conviction, he could have been the guy to start modernizing the GOP.

Instead Trump “modernized” it with a populist message of racism, protectionism and protecting social security and medicare.
