re: #391 BrainSurfer

I think the point of contraception means birth control pills for a woman so that she minimizes the risk of getting pregnant from having sex with a man who “at the time” does not have a condom, or the condom breaks or leaks. Use of birth control pills for medical reasons alone would be a minority reason. Contraception would also mean use of the “morning-after pill”, as well as condoms, which are far from fool-proof.

Anyone here who says birth control pills are not taken by college age women primarily to avoid the risk of pregnancy is in my opinion not being honest. (And I am well aware of use for birth control pills for medical reasons.)

College women who engage in sex, however, infrequently, and who do not use birth control are not being smart.

This whole debate is just about who should pay for such contraception. Obama says insurance companies should provide it and catholic colleges should fine a way to live with this system.

You’re such a bird brain. Don’t you understand? If a person of a religious faith is truly committed to not using birth control they won’t use it. If someone is opposed to using birth control accepts insurance coverage for birth control then they’re not truly committed to their alleged beliefs. You can’t even look at it that way?
