I haven’t bothered to look at it, but I have heard its very different from Windows 7.

Big jumps are always hard to overcome, unless they offer something vastly better.

I’ve been noodling around with Win 8 on my iMac. IMO, the big problem is they have dueling GUIs. Upon launch, you’re presented with the interface formerly known as Metro. That actually looks good, and should work well on touchscreen devices.

The problem is that the user has to dig to get to the desktop and the Windows Explorer file management system. It’s easily accessed by hitting the Windows key. However, this is going to confuse most average Windows users, AKA just about everyone on the freaking planet.

MS should actually be given credit for trying to update their OS, but most people can’t handle finding a document in their home folder. This transition is not going to be pretty.
