Here’s what I think happened, really - The morning after the election, things looked a lot rosier for Trump and the GOP. So many commentators saw the election day results and thought “No Blue Wave” (I’m looking at YOU, James Carville), so Trump was feeling pretty full of himself, and wanted to flex his muscles. So they set Acosta up, so that the Mic Girls would grab his mic away from him, to show the new, tougher Trump, now vindicated by a better-than-expected showing in the election.

Same thing with firing Sessions.

But as the week wore on, it became clear that things weren’t as rosy as all that, leading to Trump sulking in his hotel room in France, and rage tweeting about Mueller.

never tip your hand until the actual, final results are known
- election night is meaningless

- what is this moranic obsession with state laws mandating that the vote counts have to be done by x date and time? if they drag their feet, it’s ok that legitimate votes dont get counted?

due diligence, best efforts, it takes as long as it takes.
