Milton Friedman actually made an argument for universal basic income years ago. One of the major problems with a lot of philosophical libertarianism isn’t that it likes to pretend that everyone is starting off, right now, with the same power and opportunities.
Someday we will all be hatched out as fully-formed adults, receive a basic education chip implant and be sent out to fulfill our potential as individuals. At that point, a total Randian libertarian system would be the ideal approach.
