Also the word urban. I was very confused in the comments why people were claiming that it was racist until I saw someone say that she wouldn’t have been called an urban whore if she hadn’t been a black woman. I don’t know whether they didn’t notice that Dr. Lee’s blog is called “Urban Scientist,” but I don’t think it was racist.

Dr. Lee didn’t seem to be offended that the word whore (or urban) was used, but that her dedication to science was being impugned because she wanted to be compensated for her expertise. Ofek might be a deluded douchebag, but let’s not throw around unfounded accusations of racism or sexism.
