It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the documentary and I was quoting from memory. I will admit to one error: Baker made the “worst criminal of Watergate” statement before the tapes were made public (a very stupid thing to say even before Dean’s first day of testimony), but the other statement I quoted was from 1994. The disgust in his voice is unmistakable. Twenty years later, he still bristled at what he considered Dean’s betrayal of Nixon. I seriously doubt Baker would have changed his mind about Nixon without corroborating evidence.
