It is a bit sad how this fear leads a person to buy a battlefield weapon with money his family doesn’t have so that he feels “safe” on a simple trip to the grocery store. Conservatives promulgate this idea that being a man requires one to defend his family by force if necessary. The NRA and the gun manufacturers extend that by saying a gun ownership is a requirement of every American. More guns leads to more negligent shootings, more hot-headed shootings, more shootings by police officers worried that everyone has a gun.
