If I understand Yglesias, he’s saying that both the ‘scientific racist’ crowd and the ‘IQ tests are completely meaningless and nurture is EVERYTHING’ crowd are wrong, but the ‘scientific racism’ crowd are also BAD. That, and their whining that they’re being silenced is horseshit.

The scientific racism people are wrong but so are the people who think IQ tests don’t measure anything meaningful or who try to deny the obvious reality that people tend to resemble their parents across the whole range of attributes.

I think the biggest error *pundits* make in this space is to think Murray-style ideas have been suppressed when they are in fact a dominant influence on America’s uniquely stingy approach to low-income kids.
