I know this is stupid because this is exactly what Martin Luther King, Jr. called him, but I wish that qualification would come before announcers called John Lewis “The Boy From Troy.” Yes, I know I am “virtue signaling” whatever the fuck that is, but it was jarring to hear it without context on even MSNBC without a pre-explanation, given the freight that the word “boy” holds with Black men, particularly in the south.
